Okay now we are talking... My family has been members of something called 'Friendster' and it is like 'Myspace'. This is where we share our photos, blog, email, and even share our own lists of friends. This makes it possible for me to keep up with my family and know who just got married, new babies born in the family, etc. We post our photos to share in there and everything is within the page.
I heard from somewhere that some companies are now checking out potential employees Myspace to find out more about the person. This is a good way of showing another side of yourself, the lighter side, the less serious side, the relax side. Wow we have come a long way since all this internet business started.
Well.... that is that for me. This is week 12 and I am outie!!!!

Week 5 Explore Wikipedia and wikis
This can be used to create information which relates to the Library and any common enquiries that they may have. I am not sure if I could trust the information being entered by others if it is reliable or not. Who's to say if the person who submits an entry really knows all about the subject. I guess we just have to be careful when it comes to information being posted or edited.... hmmmm....
If you're thinking that my blog entries are out of order, you're right I forgot to do some entries. DOH!!!!

Week 11 Online applications and tools
This will be excellent especially when creating some promotional articles or even promotional handouts where you may need a few people's input. It will make it easier for them to correct or add into the document without all the confusing "Which one's the latest corrections and which one's not". I can see many uses of this especially for the Administration department.

Week 10 Mashups
I find this to be a great tool to use to create promotional flyers online to be posted on your library's website. It may also be a useful tool to use in creating webpages. Children's and Youth department can easily use this for their promotions and activities for the kids. What a great idea!!
Week 9 Podcast
Podcast will be great for the Library! One of the best ways is when there is an author talk being held at the Library, that author talk can be podcast for the patrons who could not attend on that day. Another way of using podcasting is creating a daily newsletter for the staff to listen to to keep up with what is happening that day or what events or even local news they need to know about.
Week 8 Slamming the boards
This is a great concept for getting ideas on answering queries and being rated on how you answer those queries.
Week 7 Delicious-ly Good
I find Delicious a really useful tool especially if you have a lot of favourites you want to share with other people. I can see the use of this for the Library users. They will be able to access the sites the Library recommends for a particular research. Tagging makes it so easy to use, even a child can use it, it's that easy. http://del.icio.us/librogurl

Week 6 YOUTUBE, YOU WONDER
Wow, who needs TV when there's hours and hours of fun to be had with YouTube and Google Video! The range just amazes me, from the ridiculous to the informative. As I watched the videos linked from Learning 2.0 I realized that there has been a lot of people who has turned into instant celebrity just by being on YouTube so why not make it the source of reintroducing the Library and how it has changed since the time Librarians wore their hair in a bun and walked around shushing everyone. It is certainly a bigger and better way of promoting Libraries and its services.
Week 4 RSS
This is a great new discovery for me. I can now read the latest news from my favorite news sites as soon as it's posted. Funny how some blogs are as boring as mine... funny that.
